God of War Laufey Moves to May 2027

On November 4, Santa Monica Studio announced that God of War Laufey will launch on PS5 on May 20, 2027, rather than its previously scheduled date of February 16. The change moves the game’s release back by about three months.

The studio said it would use the additional time to complete final work and develop the game further. It also thanked fans for their enthusiasm since the game was revealed in June and for their patience with the revised schedule.

Laufey stars Faye, Kratos’ wife, played by Deborah Ann Woll. The story follows Faye after she awakens in the afterlife, with her adventure unfolding alongside events involving Kratos and Atreus in the 2018 Norse saga and its Ragnarök follow-up. A 23-minute gameplay presentation earlier this year showed action that appeared more acrobatic than in the recent God of War games.

The revised date places the game in spring 2027. Sony also has Until Dawn 2 scheduled for January 28, while MLB The Show typically arrives in March. Santa Monica Studio said it plans to share more updates about Laufey before its release.
