Brady Pettigrew Weighs Early College Move as Top Recruit
On November 4, five-star guard Brady Pettigrew remained one of the most sought-after players in the 2028 class, with more than 35 scholarship offers and interest from programs including Duke and North Carolina. The Bolingbrook, Illinois, standout is ranked among the nation’s top 10 players in his class.
The key decision is whether Pettigrew will graduate early and begin college next year. His father, Titcus Pettigrew, said Brady could attend college or remain at Bolingbrook; the family is not considering a prep school. He said about nine colleges would take both Brady and his older brother JT, who plays at Valparaiso. Titcus said he favors Brady staying in the 2028 class, citing the possibility of building a legacy in the Bolingbrook community.
North Carolina is among the schools pursuing Pettigrew, who recently visited the campus. A move into the 2027 class could make him a target for the Tar Heels’ recruiting group, but he has not made that change. Other programs in the mix include Kentucky, Duke, Ohio State and Illinois.
Pettigrew’s father pointed to Jeremiah Fears and Bryce Heard as players who left high school before their senior seasons to play college basketball. Brady’s decision comes as his father coaches Bolingbrook’s football team in the state playoffs and follows the college careers of his sons.
