Ansari and Two Arizona Democrats Projected to Win Reelection
Democrat Yassamin Ansari was projected to win reelection to the U.S. House in Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District on November 3, 2026. The projection also put fellow Democrats Greg Stanton and Adelita Grijalva on track to return to Congress from Arizona’s 4th and 7th districts.
Arizona Democrats Ansari, Stanton and Grijalva Poised to Return
Three Arizona Democrats were projected to keep their seats in Congress, including Yassamin Ansari in the 3rd Congressional District. The projections also favored Greg Stanton in the 4th District and Adelita Grijalva in the 7th, extending the presence of Democratic representatives across the state’s delegation.
Ansari, who won the seat in 2024, faced third-party candidates Alan Aversa of No Labels and Green Party candidate David Redkey. Republican Jacob Parkman was running as a write-in candidate. Stanton, first elected to Congress in 2018, faced Republican Zuhdi Jasser and No Labels candidate Tisha Beniot, as well as write-in candidate Steven Sanders.
Grijalva entered Congress after a special election in September 2025, following her father Raul Grijalva’s death. She faced Republican Daniel Butierez Sr. The projections pointed to continuity in all three districts, with each incumbent Democrat favored to return.
Democrats Projected to Hold Three Arizona House Seats
Democrats were projected to retain three Arizona seats in the U.S. House, with Yassamin Ansari favored in the 3rd Congressional District. Greg Stanton and Adelita Grijalva were also projected to win in the 4th and 7th districts, respectively.
Ansari faced two third-party candidates, while Republican Jacob Parkman ran as a write-in. In the 4th District, Republican Zuhdi Jasser challenged Stanton, alongside No Labels candidate Tisha Beniot and write-in candidate Steven Sanders. Grijalva faced Republican Daniel Butierez Sr. in the 7th District.
The projections suggest that none of the three Democratic-held seats was set to change parties. Stanton has emphasized working across party lines, while Ansari first won her seat in 2024 and Grijalva took office after a 2025 special election. The races offered voters a choice among the incumbents and their challengers, but the projected outcomes favored the sitting Democrats.
