Man dies after suspected road rage shooting in Scottsdale

Scottsdale police responded at about 2:20 p.m. on November 3 to a shooting near 87th Street and East Cactus Road. Initial information indicated the gunfire may have followed a road rage incident, police said.

Officers found a man with gunshot wounds and provided medical assistance before fire personnel arrived. He was taken to a hospital in life-threatening condition and later died. Police have not publicly identified him.

A suspect was arrested at the scene. Police said the incident appeared to be isolated and there was no threat to the public. Authorities have not detailed the motive, and the investigation is continuing.

Drivers were urged to stay clear of the area and use another route while officers investigate. The closure was expected to remain in place for an undetermined amount of time.
