Paul Pelosi Gets Six-Month Driving Ban in Hit-and-Run Case

On November 3, Paul Pelosi entered a no-contest plea on a misdemeanor charge of fleeing after a collision and an infraction for an illegal turn in Napa County, California. Paul Pelosi, 86, is married to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi; he struck an unoccupied, parked car in Yountville on July 3, then departed without remaining at the location, prosecutors said. No injuries were reported, and officials said alcohol was not involved.

A judge ordered Pelosi to serve one year of summary probation, complete a 10-day work program and refrain from driving for six months. The driving ban is the maximum period allowed under the law cited by prosecutors. Pelosi paid the car’s owner $11,191.14 in restitution and was also required to cover court-imposed fines and fees.

By November 20, Pelosi is required to appear for intake at Napa County's Department of Corrections. In July, a family spokesperson said Pelosi had apologized to the vehicle’s owner and would take responsibility for the damage.

The case follows a separate Napa County DUI case in 2022. Pelosi pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence in that case and received probation, along with requirements that included a DUI education program and an ignition interlock device. The July collision involved only property damage, prosecutors said.
