Ball’s 34 points lead Timberwolves past Bucks
Ball made six 3-pointers and became the quickest player in NBA history to get to 1,000, doing so in 311 games. Duncan Robinson had held the previous mark, reaching the milestone in 343 games. Ball was considered questionable to play because of a right wrist bruise but scored 13 of Minnesota’s first 17 points and had 24 by halftime, matching his previous season high for a full game.
Ayo Dosunmu added 19 points and a season-best 12 rebounds for Minnesota, while Jaden McDaniels scored 13. The Timberwolves shot 42.7%, their lowest mark of the season, but had six players finish in double figures.
Milwaukee stayed within reach through the first three quarters. Minnesota opened the fourth with an 11-3 burst, moving ahead 91-79, and Ball’s sixth 3-pointer later made it 96-81. The Timberwolves held on for a 112-100 win.
Tyler Herro led the Bucks with 21 points, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. had 19. Milwaukee shot 38.4%, its worst percentage of the season, and fell to 1-6 after losing six of its first seven games. Rookie Brayden Burries made his first start for the Bucks and scored nine points, shooting 4 for 15.
Minnesota played without Anthony Edwards, who is recovering from knee surgery, and Terrence Shannon Jr., out with a left hip contusion. The Bucks visit Boston and the Timberwolves travel to Houston on Wednesday, November 4.
