Angel Reese Pauses Podcast After Dream’s Finals Defeat

Reese plans to take a six-month break from Unapologetically Angel, while occasionally posting vlogs on YouTube. She said Florida would be her home during the offseason, where she intends to rest, work out, focus quietly on her personal brand and spend time supporting her partner, Orlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr.

The Dream fell 68-63 in Game 7, ending Atlanta’s first Finals appearance since 2013. Reese played 33 minutes in the deciding game, scoring eight points on 3-of-7 shooting and collecting 12 rebounds. She also had four turnovers; her 27 turnovers across the series set a WNBA Finals record.

Despite the loss, Reese is coming off her strongest regular season in three WNBA campaigns. She averaged 16.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per game, led the league in rebounding for a third straight season and received All-WNBA Second Team and All-Defensive First Team honors, along with Defensive Player of the Year.

She also helped Atlanta reach the playoffs as the No. 4 seed and advance past Washington and New York before the seven-game Finals. Reese averaged 16.1 points and 11 rebounds in the postseason. The next WNBA season is scheduled to begin in early May 2027, following a draft in mid-April.
