Savannah Guthrie Renews Plea for Information About Missing Mother

Savannah Guthrie renewed her appeal on November 1 for information about her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, who disappeared from her Tucson-area home in February. The morning-show co-host shared a drawing made by her daughter, showing an umbrella in the rain beside a message about needing her mother.

Guthrie wrote that the picture reflected her feelings and that her family was still struggling to carry on. She said they longed for answers and asked anyone with knowledge to come forward. She described her mother as a “light in this world” and said the family hoped to honor her and restore her dignity.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her home on January 31 and was reported missing the following day. Investigators think she was abducted against her wishes. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation with FBI assistance; no suspect has been identified.

The sheriff’s department said investigators recently traveled to Florida to consult laboratory scientists about ways to advance the case, including DNA analysis. A task force continues to work with partner agencies on leads.

Guthrie said the family’s $1 million reward for information remains available. She also thanked people who have supported them and urged the public to help locate her mother.
