At least six people were shot late on October 31, 2026, near the University of Delaware campus in Newark, Delaware. The shooting took place off East Main Street, in an alleyway near Choate Street, prompting patrons of nearby bars and restaurants to run.
Each of the six victims was transported by ambulance to local hospitals. Police had not released their identities or conditions. A witness said the victims appeared to be about 15 or 16 years old, but their ages and whether they were university students had not been confirmed.
A bystander said he used his shirt to put pressure on a young victim’s stomach wound and held the teenager’s hand until first responders arrived. Klondike Kate’s said the shooting did not happen inside the restaurant or on its property.
