Iowa State Edges No. 24 Oklahoma State on Final Kick

The Cyclones snapped a two-game losing streak with a last-second victory in a high-scoring game that featured 1,114 combined yards. Iowa State improved to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the Big 12, while Oklahoma State fell to 5-3 and 3-2.

Iowa State quarterback Jaylen Raynor passed for 309 yards and three touchdowns, added a rushing score and completed 18 of 28 passes. Aiden Flora ran for 221 yards and two touchdowns. Jamal Polite Jr. had 171 receiving yards, including a 33-yard catch on the Cyclones’ final possession.

Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker threw for 323 yards and five touchdowns. Caleb Hawkins rushed for 194 yards. Six scoring plays in the game covered at least 40 yards, as the lead changed repeatedly.

The Cowboys moved ahead 49-48 with 53 seconds remaining when Mestemaker found Wyatt Young for a seven-yard touchdown. Young was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct after the score, and the penalty was applied on the kickoff. Iowa State then covered 47 yards in five plays, with Raynor’s 33-yard pass to Polite helping set up Konrardy’s winning kick as time ran out.

Iowa State will play at Baylor on November 7, 2026. Oklahoma State is scheduled to visit Kansas State.
