Craig’s Late Run Seals TCU’s Comeback Over Kansas

TCU erased a 13-point halftime deficit to beat Kansas 22-16 in Fort Worth on October 31, 2026. Craig broke loose for a 17-yard touchdown that gave TCU the lead with 69 seconds remaining, capping a 13-play, 84-yard drive. Kansas’ final pass fell incomplete as time expired.

The Horned Frogs had managed little on offense early, punting seven times in their first eight possessions. Their other first-half drive ended when Kansas stopped them on fourth down near the goal line. TCU went into halftime scoreless for the first time since its 2018 Cheez-It Bowl win over California.

Max Carroll gave TCU a spark after halftime, returning an interception 60 yards for a touchdown. Freshman receiver Ace Theus later scored on a 28-yard run, putting the Frogs ahead 14-13. Kansas moved back in front, 16-14, when Martin Connington made a 27-yard kick following a 94-yard TCU interception return that was wiped out by a pass-interference penalty.

Craig’s late run put TCU back on top. He finished with 87 rushing yards despite a difficult day throwing the ball. Kansas quarterback Cole Ballard completed 20 of 35 passes for 285 yards and a touchdown, a 29-yard connection with Cam Pickett.

The win lifted TCU to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the Big 12. It was the Frogs’ first victory by eight points or fewer after losing four such games this season. Kansas fell to 3-5 and 1-4 in conference play. The Jayhawks welcome UCF next Saturday, while TCU travels to No. 22 Arizona for a Friday night game.
