Chipotle Worker Accused of Throwing Knife and Bottles at Manager
Police said Walker became angry after the manager told him to clock out at the restaurant at 6290 South Dixie Highway. He allegedly threw food and kitchen items onto the floor, then threw a knife at the manager, missing him.
Walker then allegedly threw glass bottles. One struck a kitchen grill and dented it; another made contact with the manager’s shoulder on his left side. A witness said to investigators that she saw him hurl the knife and a bottle and heard him threaten to kill the manager. Another employee reported hearing threats to beat the manager.
Police said three bottles, valued at $3.45 each, were damaged, and the grill sustained about $150 in damage. South Miami officers arrested Walker at the restaurant at 2:20 p.m. on October 29. He was booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center later that evening.
Walker appeared in bond court on October 30. The judge barred him from going near the manager or restaurant and placed him under house arrest with GPS monitoring. His bond was set at $6,400.
He is charged with assault with a weapon, battery, assault and criminal mischief.
