Teen Shot While Walking to School in the Bronx

The boy, believed to be between 15 and 17, was shot once in the abdomen shortly before October 29, 2026, near the junction of East 171st Street with Third Avenue in the Crotona Park area, police said. The shooting was also described as taking place near 1511 Fulton Avenue.

Officers took the teenager to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was stable. Police are seeking a man who fled the scene. Police said the man was last observed with a blue disposable face covering, a white short-sleeved shirt, and a black Nike Tech ensemble bearing white text.

Police were speaking with witnesses and checking for surveillance footage. No arrests had been made, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting were unclear.
