Savannah Chrisley’s Fiancé Faces Warning From Estranged Brother
Derek Galanis, 54, says his estranged brother Jason Galanis is not a changed man and that Savannah Chrisley should expect a difficult relationship. “It’s his biggest con yet,” he said in an interview published October 28, adding that she was in for “a rocky ride.” These are Derek’s claims; he and Jason have been estranged for years, and Derek said they last spoke in 2016 while both were incarcerated in New York City.
Chrisley, 29, shared on Instagram October 27 that she was expecting a child and was engaged to Jason. The fiancé was subsequently identified as Jason Galanis, 56. In her post, Chrisley wrote that her child would not be defined by controversy or other people’s opinions.
Jason was sentenced in 2020 to 189 months in prison for his role in securities fraud schemes, including a scheme involving the sale of fake municipal bonds. He served time at a federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida, alongside Chrisley’s father, Todd, in 2023. President Trump later pardoned both men.
Jason was also a business partner of Hunter Biden from 2012 to 2015, according to testimony Jason gave to a House committee in 2024. Hunter Biden told the committee he recalled meeting Jason only once, about a decade earlier. Derek said he had spoken publicly about the Hunter Biden matter, but that Jason had not thanked him. Chrisley’s post celebrated the pregnancy and did not address her future brother-in-law’s allegations.
