Rangers Rally Past Flyers on Kartye’s Late Goal

The Rangers erased a second-period deficit to defeat the Flyers 3-2 in New York on November 5. Ty Kartye scored the winner with 4:39 remaining, and Dylan Garand stopped 23 shots as New York secured its second consecutive victory after a four-game losing streak.

Gabe Perreault opened the scoring at 4:39 of the first period, his fifth goal of the season. Philadelphia responded in the second: Simon Benoit tied the game with a shot from the blue line, then Noel Acciari put the Flyers ahead. Denver Barkey and Jamie Drysdale assisted on Acciari’s goal.

Pavel Dorofeyev tied it on a power play with 6:08 left in the third. Kartye then scored his fifth of the season to give New York the lead, and the Rangers held on through the final minutes. Adam Fox had two assists. Philadelphia goalie Joseph Woll made 24 saves.

Garand improved to 6-6-1 this season. He has opened every game except one since Igor Shesterkin suffered an injury on October 9 and was ruled out for the season the following day. The Rangers visit Seattle on Saturday, while the Flyers travel to Calgary on Sunday.
