Chris Pratt to Return as James Reece in Savage Son

Chris Pratt will return as former Navy SEAL James Reece in Amazon’s adaptation of Savage Son, the third novel in Jack Carr’s Terminal List series. The project was announced on November 5, 2026, as the franchise’s next chapter following the original series and its prequel, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.

Amazon has not established whether Savage Son will be a separate production or the third season of The Terminal List. The original show began in 2022, and its second season premiered on October 21, 2026. Dark Wolf, starring Taylor Kitsch as Ben Edwards, expanded the franchise with a prequel story.

The novel’s plot places Reece in Montana as he recovers from brain surgery and tries to rebuild his life. A CIA officer accused of treachery has taken refuge with the Russian Mafia and plans to kill him. Reece joins forces with journalist Katie Buranek and longtime friend Raife Hastings, then assembles former commandos for a mission against the group.

The project is being produced by Amazon’s MGM Studios division, MRC, and Civic Center Media. Peter Friedlander, Amazon MGM Studios’ head of global television, said the franchise continues to connect with audiences and described Savage Son as its most intense chapter yet.
