Lionsgate Revenue Jumps 41% as Quarterly Loss Narrows

Lionsgate reported revenue of $668.8 million for the quarter ended in September, up 41% from a year earlier and above analysts’ $627.6 million forecast. Its net loss narrowed to $15.5 million from $113.5 million. The company recorded a loss of 5 cents per share, compared with 39 cents a year earlier, while adjusted OIBDA was $72 million.

The studio’s film and television library generated $1.04 billion in revenue over the 12 months through the quarter, its second-highest level. The 20,000-title collection includes franchises such as John Wick and The Hunger Games, as well as titles including Twilight, La La Land and Dirty Dancing.

Motion Picture segment revenue rose 30% to $359.3 million, and segment profit increased to $88.7 million from $30.5 million. The results were driven by the Michael biopic and library revenue. Television production revenue climbed 56% to $309.5 million, while segment profit reached $21.6 million, up from $12.5 million. Higher episodic deliveries included The Hunting Wives and The Studio. Lionsgate expects to double scripted deliveries in fiscal 2027 compared with fiscal 2026.

CEO Jon Feltheimer said the quarter’s results supported the company’s fiscal 2027 plan and confidence in adjusted OIBDA growth. He also pointed to film releases planned over the next three years and said Lionsgate had growing visibility into growth in fiscal 2028 and 2029. The company, which separated from Starz in 2025, is also the subject of takeover speculation, including a reported offer from Legendary Entertainment. The next Hunger Games film is scheduled to arrive in theaters later in November.
