Chandler Police Seek Witnesses in Fatal Halloween Crash

Police found Harris seriously injured in the roadway near Gilbert Road and Amanda Boulevard shortly before 10:30 p.m. on October 31. He was transported to a medical center, but died afterward. Officers identified him as a 27-year-old man from Chandler’s Halloween-night investigation.

Investigators said Harris had attended a Halloween gathering and told companions he planned to step outside for fresh air. At least one car hit him. A passerby stopped and tried to keep approaching traffic from hitting him by signaling to drivers from the median.

Witnesses told police that additional drivers may have struck Harris and continued without stopping. One driver involved stayed there and has been assisting the inquiry. Police said that driver showed no signs of impairment.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to reach Chandler Police Detective Mike Whipple by calling 480-782-4943.
