Jason Sudeikis Named College GameDay Guest Picker at Notre Dame
ESPN announced Thursday that actor Jason Sudeikis will be the guest picker on College GameDay when the program broadcasts from Notre Dame on November 7. He will make selections for the day’s college football games, including the matchup between Miami and Notre Dame.
Sudeikis said Notre Dame has been part of his family’s life for generations. His grandfather and an uncle graduated from the university, while actor George Wendt, another uncle, attended but left before completing his degree. Sudeikis also went to a basketball camp there in sixth grade, describing the appearance as a high point of his connection to the school.
The game carries playoff significance. Miami is ranked No. 1, while Notre Dame is No. 11 in the first playoff rankings. Notre Dame has one loss, against ranked BYU, and a win over Miami could strengthen its position. The teams last met in the 2024 season opener, when Miami won; Notre Dame later missed the playoff by one game and opted out of its bowl game.
Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney suffered an ankle sprain sustained during practice this week, leaving a gap in the Hurricanes’ offense ahead of the matchup. Sudeikis is known for playing the title role in Ted Lasso, and has won four Emmy Awards for the series.
