Suns Rule Rasheer Fleming Out Against Trail Blazers

The Phoenix Suns will be without Rasheer Fleming for their November 4 game against the Portland Trail Blazers after the forward was downgraded from questionable with a left ankle sprain. Mark Williams is also out, while Jordan Goodwin is listed as questionable. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. MST as Phoenix begins a seven-game homestand.

The Suns are trying to snap a three-game losing streak. Portland beat Phoenix 124-83 in the teams’ regular-season opener.

Fleming, a second-year forward, has appeared in two games this season and averaged 7.5 minutes. Phoenix has relied on Dillon Brooks and Miles Bridges as starters on the wings, with Ryan Dunn and, at times, Goodwin receiving reserve minutes. Fleming showed promise during his rookie season and drew attention with his Summer League play, but has had a limited role so far.

Coach Jordan Ott said at Media Day that Fleming’s ceiling remains uncertain, praising his work, understanding of his role and physical abilities. The team appears to be waiting for further development before giving him a larger share of playing time. His ankle injury now adds a health issue as he works to earn more minutes.
