Robbers Disguised as Amazon Workers Tie Up Bronx Seniors

Three people posing as Amazon delivery workers forced their way into a residence close to Bainbridge Avenue and East 199th Street in the Bronx at about 11:15 a.m. on November 3, police said. The pair comprised a woman aged 89 and her son, aged 70, who answered the door after hearing the bell.

One of the intruders displayed a firearm, and the group took the victims’ cellphones, a wallet, credit cards and cash. The stolen cash included $24, police said. The intruders bound the pair with zip ties and left on foot, heading north on Bainbridge Avenue.

Surveillance images showed at least two suspects wearing Amazon vests and carrying boxes. One was described as a woman wearing a black hat, pants, boots, gloves and glasses. A second wore a black hooded sweatshirt beneath an Amazon vest, dark trousers and dark footwear. The third suspect had on a black hooded sweatshirt, dark trousers and dark shoes.

Emergency medical workers treated both victims at the scene for minor injuries. The robbery was reported to the 52nd Precinct. No arrests had been made by November 4, and the investigation was ongoing.
