Evans and Samuel Face Health Questions Ahead of Fantasy Week 9

On November 3, the Week 9 wide receiver outlook centered on potential returns by Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel, alongside players coming back from bye weeks. Both veterans could help fill gaps in their teams’ receiving groups, but their health remains a concern. Jordyn Tyson could also make his season debut; the preview cautioned against starting him even if he is cleared to play.

Evans would be the stronger fantasy option if available. He has averaged 10.8 yards per target, with a 7.6% touchdown rate and a 31.7% target-per-route-run rate when playing. But he has exceeded 65% of his team’s offensive snaps only once this season, leaving him around WR20 for the week rather than among the top 12.

Samuel’s role is less secure. He has scored at least 12 PPR points in three of five games, though one of those totals included 80 receiving yards on a trick play without a catch. If he practices fully, the preview anticipates five to seven touches, putting him in low-end WR3 or flex territory.

Other notable calls include starting Rashee Rice as a WR2 after he drew a 29.6% target-per-route-run rate in his return, and keeping Omar Cooper Jr. despite a scoreless Week 8. Michael Wilson could be a WR2 if he plays through a rib injury. For waiver options, the preview points to Lemon and Commanders receiver Williams, while recommending Seattle’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba as a DFS play against Arizona.
