Neve Campbell Confirms Return for Scream 8
Campbell confirmed on November 2 during an interview with the Associated Press that she will again play Sidney Prescott in Scream 8. The actor offered no details about the next installment, saying only, “I’ll be in it.”
Campbell has appeared in six of the seven films. She sat out 2023’s Scream VI after a dispute over her compensation, then returned for Scream 7, which focused on Sidney and her daughter, Tatum.
Scream 7 brought in $97.2 million worldwide during its opening and went on to earn $208 million globally, making it the franchise’s highest-grossing film. The movie had a reported production budget of $45 million.
The eighth film is being developed, and Lilla and Nora Zuckerman, sisters, are writing its screenplay. Kevin Williamson, the original film’s writer and director of Scream 7, has said he expects to step back from the next installment rather than write or direct it.
