Reynolds’ Three Touchdowns Lead Clemson Past Florida State
Reynolds threw two first-half touchdown passes, ending a four-game stretch without a passing score, as Clemson built a 23-10 halftime lead. He completed 18 of 32 passes for 189 yards and sealed the win with a 79-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter. He finished with 85 rushing yards.
Clemson scored on eight of its 13 drives and relied on kicker Nolan Hauser, who made all five field-goal attempts, including a 50-yarder. Christian Bentancur and Olsen Patt-Henry caught Reynolds’ touchdown passes.
Florida State outgained Clemson 415 yards to 351, but quarterback Ashton Daniels committed four turnovers: three interceptions and a fumble. He threw touchdown passes of 46 and 41 yards, and ran for a score. The Seminoles had 65 rushing yards on 29 carries and converted only one of 10 third downs.
Clemson improved to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Florida State fell to 3-5 and 1-4, losing its third straight. Clemson left guard Elyjah Thurmon was taken off the field on a cart after remaining on the turf for roughly 10 minutes during quarter two; he gave a thumbs-up as he was driven away.
Clemson visits Syracuse next Saturday, while Florida State travels to Boston College.
