Dre Greenlaw Fined $12,537 for Hit on Drake London

The NFL fined Greenlaw $12,537 after he swung at the ball London was carrying during San Francisco’s 29-20 loss to Atlanta on October 25. Greenlaw’s fist struck London’s helmet instead of dislodging the ball. No penalty was called during the game, but the league later punished him for the play, with the fine announced on October 31.

London left the field to be checked for a possible concussion after the contact. He was cleared and returned to the game.

The loss ended San Francisco’s unbeaten start. The 49ers led 14-3 before Atlanta scored 23 straight points; San Francisco also gave the ball away four times. The win ended Atlanta’s two-game losing streak and brought its record to 3-4.

Greenlaw had also been fined $11,941 earlier in the season for taunting Denver’s bench. He sat out the sixth week under a league ban after headbutting Ernest Jones IV, a Seattle linebacker.

San Francisco is 6-1 and leads the NFC West. After a Week 8 bye, the 49ers are set to host the Raiders, then travel to Dallas, play Minnesota in Mexico City and face Seattle again.
