Loveland Limited at Bears Practice With Neck Injury
Loveland’s addition to the injury report comes as his production has picked up. Over the past two games, he has made 13 catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns, after a quieter start to the season. The team had not listed him with an injury for over a year, and the timing and severity of the neck issue were not clear in the team’s Friday update.
The Bears are already without tight end Cole Kmet, who is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. General manager Ryan Poles said the Bears are trying to guide Kmet back to his original form and become the best version of himself. Kmet’s contract includes a relatively affordable exit option for 2027.
Monangai, dealing with a toe injury, did not practice again and is on course to miss his fourth consecutive game. He had 324 rushing yards and three touchdowns in Chicago’s first four games. At cornerback, Tyrique Stevenson continued practicing while managing a hamstring injury, and Malik Muhammad was limited with a toe issue. Linebacker D’Marco Jackson went from limited participation Thursday to missing Friday’s practice.
The Bears have another day before their Monday night matchup with the Seahawks, and are due to issue a final injury report Saturday. Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams was also fined $23,882 by the NFL for wearing Caddix cleats against New England, twice the amount of his previous fine for wearing them against Atlanta.
